So I should start out this post by saying that Jill from A Crazy Peach is a certified genius. It was through this post that I figured out that I could use the Lash Boosting Serum (with my favorite brush tip) from Physicians Formula as a way to wetline with my pigments while using the brush tip that I like.
Technically, Jill wouldn't have gotten the Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liner and Clear Serum had it not been for me...so should I be thanking myself?
I've gotten great results with using the clear serum as a mixing medium as you will with the brush tip. It's quite easy to use, all you do is dip the brush tip into the pigment and then mix it on the back of your hand until you get a consistency that you like. It shouldn't be too watery or dry, experiment until you get it to your liking.
I tried it with two different pigments, both Sugarpill pigments that I've enjoyed using as all over eyeshadows but have wanted to use as eyeliner. The brush tip on the Physicians Formula clear serum is quite firm and tightly packed together, even through thorough cleaning with water, it hasn't frayed or been stained by the pigments I've used.
You can see that I can get a really precise line, the way I can with the Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liners in Ultra Black or Deep Brown.
With Sugarpill Goldilux Loose Eyeshadow. It seems quite light here for some reason but I imagine it'll pop much better when done over eyeshadow. Goldilux is quite glittery and it took a little more effort to clean the pigment out of the brush tip but with a little perseverance, I was able to remove it and it didn't damage the tip.
How do you like to wetline your pigments? I know that this isn't the most cost effective option but I do like the brush tip so I can justify the use! After the clear serum runs out, I should still be able to use the brush tip with a mixing medium, it just won't be flowing from the pen.
Edit: Herp derp, it might have been smart to actually show you a picture of what the Lash Boosting Serum looks like! I photographed it in the liner box but that's because I don't actually have the box for the clear serum.
Here's a close up on the tip. It's quite fine and precise and this is after I've cleaned it so it looks pretty pristine!
