New Inglot Freedom System Colour Play Lipstick Swatches & First Impressions

When I was at The Makeup Show LA last weekend, I had the pleasure of previewing the new Colour Play lipsticks which will be added to the Freedom System and designed to fit into the Freedom System palettes. The lipsticks come in a range of ten bright colors within the rainbow spectrum (excluding red) and  there's even a white lipstick. If you follow me on Instagram (@ohmeohmai) you probably saw my preview swatches but I also took a better high quality photo.

These are premiering at Inglot stores, online, and select Macy's department stores tomorrow Saturday, March 9th. Each lipstick pan retails for $6.00 though I'm not sure how much product is in each pan. For $60.00, you can get a whole spectrum of colors! *Update! The press release I received said the pans would be $5.00 each but the information was incorrect as it is $6.00 online)

(Sorry for the dirty pans, they had already been picked over by the time I got to the Inglot booth!)

Inglot Colourplay Freedom System Lipsticks

Official product description:

"With their unique formulation and special ingredients these bold lipsticks will leave a scent of candy on your lips and the vitamin E and apricot kernel oil are sure to keep them moisturized and protected.  The formulation also allows for an easy and long lasting application and will not leave your lips feeling sticky.  All shades can be worn individually or mixed and blended to achieve that perfect colour"

My first impression of them is that they are quite creamy but still fairly pigmented.  I'm not sure about the longevity factor though as they appeared to stay creamy and not necessarily dry down. I didn't notice the candy scent when I was swatching though it may be more present if I swatch them on my lips.

Swatches

I swatched these using a doefoot applicator on the back of my hand and took the picture without flash.

Inglot Colourplay Freedom System Lipsticks Swatches

91 is a bright, egg yolk yellow. 92 is a brilliant lime green, 93 is a  light teal, 94 is a light true blue with a hint of sky blue, 95 is a medium blue-toned purple, 96 is a light pink, 97 is a traffic cone orange, 98 is a darker pink, 99 is a medium red-toned purple, and 100 is a true white (with more of a satin or matte finish). All the colors are shimmerless.

If I had the freedom system palette, I'd be hesitant to keep one of these colors in with my eyeshadows for fear of any fallout contaminating the colors. I would have preferred the lipsticks available in the freedom system round pans like the other freedom system lipsticks so I could have a whole palette of lipsticks that went together as opposed to the square pans.

****************************

Do you like the looks of these lipsticks? Are you thinking of picking any up? Personally I like the idea of these pans because I think it's an economical way to have unconventional colors of lipsticks but I would have to make sure I had a way to store them to prevent them from getting dirty. $6.00 is a fabulous price to get a pan of the lipstick colors. I do wish they swapped out one of the pinks for a black lipstick instead so I could better darken some of the colors.

INGLOT Pacific Blue Lipstick Collection Swatches and Impressions

For ages now, I had been wanting to check out INGLOT'S Pacific Blue Lipstick Collection but was a little lazy about going to my local INGLOT freestanding store plus no one had any swatches online. Luckily INGLOT was featuring the collection at IMATS LA so I got to finally swatch and take pictures of them, hopefully someone will find them useful!

From left to right: 287, 288, 289, 290, 291, 292

Inglot Pacific Blue Lipstick Collection

Swatched in the same order: 287, 288, 289, 290, 291, 292

Inglot Pacific Blue Lipstick Collection

For the swatches, I did several swipes to get the true color but I felt that all the lipsticks had a bit of slip which necessitated a few swipes to build up coverage. Rikki has a review of 287 so you can get a better idea of what the formula for that color is like (it doesn't look very good). 292 is quite shimmery while the rest are cremes. 287 and 290 look a little similar but 287 is more of a sky blue whereas 290 is a little more periwinkle and a tinge darker.

Do you like the looks of the lipsticks?

New Launch from Inglot: Double Sparkle Rainbow Eyeshadows

Here's another press release on a new release from Inglot!
inglot logo
INGLOT Cosmetics launches Double Sparkle Rainbow Eye Shadows - an extension of shadows for Freedom System. The Double Sparkle Eyeshadow will be available in 10 different shades and proides the coverage of matte but leaves an element of bling to your eyes. Each colour boasts three shades in one, which can be blended together or applied separately giving you a limitless variety of colour options! The frosty and pearl finishes can accentuate textual differences on the skin, and the double sparkle leaves intense colour saturation and reflective particles that won't accentuate the fine lines of mature skin.

Currently I own two double sparkle eyeshadows and I really like the matte with bright sparkle finish they have. If you want to have the sparkle shine though, pat the eyeshadows on and if you want to apply it more matte without the sparkle, sweep the eyeshadow on.

These Double Sparkle Rainbow Eyeshadows will go on sale in stores and online on November 17th at Inglotusa.com and the Inglot stores in NYC, Las Vegas, Miami, Newport Beach, New Jersey and select Macy's. These will retail for $8.00 like the other Rainbow Eyeshadows. The current matte Rainbow Eyeshadows have about 2.5 grams of product in them so I think these will have a similar amount. I think these will be a nice contrast to the current all matte Rainbow Eyeshadows.

The first picture has the website product pictures with the corresponding numbers and the second picture has more true to life images of the eyeshadows. I really like the look of 128R and 130R, especially the darkest color in 130R. Oh and if you're curious, the compact that the orange 123R is pictured in retails for $6.00 if you wanted to pick it up.

Impromptu Winged Liner Playtime FOTD

I recently got Inglot's Freedom System Cream Concealer in the right shade (department store lighting and my laziness about going outside to check the color led me to pick the wrong shade the first time around) and so I wanted to try it out in a FOTD. I've still gotta test out the wear time but the wee 1.3 gram pan was only $4.00.

To keep on with the Inglot theme, I experimented mixing my Inglot Duraline (a mixing medium) with my gel liner on the back of my hand to create a winged liner. I read a tip online about how great Duraline is with rehydrating dried out gel liner and after trying it, it really does work. I've tried mixing Duraline in the actual pot but I much like mixing it before each use much better.

Forgive the headband, my hair was looking crap today.

A lot of people like to use concealer on the skin around their brows and I used to think it was an unnecessary step that made things look too "unreal" but I was wrong, it really cleans up the brow area and looks awesome!

Next week is IMATS LA! I'm so so excited to go and meet fellow beauty bloggers there. I was initially only going to go on Saturday but since I have a press pass, I might as well go on Sunday too! It'll give me the opportunity to watch the NYX Face Awards happening that day and to meet a few Youtube Gurus.

Are there any brands you'd like me to check out? I've already got Sugarpill, Inglot (not to buy, just to check out any new stuff), Make Up For Ever, and MAC.

Product Descriptions for Inglot Cosmetics Part Three: Lip Products

For anyone looking to purchase any, I urge you to watch DustyoHunter's video because he reviews a few of the lip products regarding wear time, smell, etc. It's especially relevant for anyone who may be sensitive to certain scents.

Pastel Incarnation EOTD

Would you believe that this look was created with eyeshadows from Sugarpill's Burning Heart Palette, just mixed with white? It's not a unique idea but one I recently saw done by ChaosMakeupArtist where she had mixed a matte white with Sugarpill Flamepoint to create a pastel orange shade.

I absolutely loved the look of it so I had to recreate it myself and try it out with a few other Sugarpill eyeshadows. This is an excellent way to make bright pressed eyeshadows wearable for someone who may not always want bold striking color. I think this looks positively sweet tasting and it is so easy to do! Dab a white eyeshadow on your brush first, dip into a little bit of the bold color then apply! It mixes together to create a light pastel shade.

Product Descriptions for Inglot Cosmetics Part One: Face Products

inglot logo

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Inglot USA on their twitter after I expressed my frustration about the lack of product descriptions on their site. They then were kind enough to offer to send me their draft of the product descriptions.

This is only a draft so there are a few missing and it is available if you want to email socialmedia@inglotusa.com. I do hope you guys find this sort of helpful in your quest to get Inglot Cosmetics and for anyone looking to review any Inglot but are lacking information on what the product claims are and how the products should perform. I will say that I think some of the descriptions are rather repetitive though.

I'll be posting them in several parts because there are so many and I know you don't want to scroll through that many descriptions. Today's post will have the Face Product Descriptions and I've also included links to the product on the Inglot USA site, prices, and product amounts (they're all listed on the Inglot website but I got anal retentive and wanted to add them in this post too).

Sailor Moon Collaboration: Sailor Venus

Two weeks ago, a bunch of beauty bloggers and I were talking on Twitter about the 20th anniversary of the Sailor Moon series and our love for it. We then decided to do a group makeup collaboration celebrating the series! We each picked a Sailor Scout/Senshi and a Villain/Villainess from the series to base off for an EOTD/FOTD. This week is the Sailor Scout/Senshi week and I chose to do Sailor Venus!

V is for Venus!

.

Sailor Venus!

Sailor Venus's uniform is white, orange, yellow, with a blue bow on her costume and a red bow in her hair and I wanted to incorporate most of those colors into my look. Orange and Blue are two colors that complement each other so well so it worked out perfectly. I couldn't find a matte blue that tone so I went for a lighter and brighter blue. I was also a little inspired by the planet Venus in that I wanted a nice mixture of orange, the way Venus is a gaseous planet with swirls of color.

.

.

.

.

.

Sailor Venus is also the Soldier of Love so I had to do a little red heart on my cheek to celebrate that!

The Makeup Show LA Haulage

Practicing restraint is so hard to do when you're surrounded by so much makeup. Still though, I think I managed to be relatively conservative when it came to getting things at The Makeup Show. I received the Kiss eyelashes, the Mehron Celebre Pro Loose Powder, and the OCC Lip Tar for free, the rest I purchased.

The Makeup Show Haulage

I was most excited to try out Make Up For Ever at the event, in fact that was the first booth I checked out. Everything was at least 40% off with a few select products on sale for 50% off like the Aqua Liners. I picked up the HD Foundation in 153 for $24.00.

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation 153

I then I picked up the Aqua Liner in 11 for $11.50 but I'm having some difficulty getting it to look as burgundy/red as I've seen in some swatches. I must continue experimenting!

Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner 11

I was most excited to get some Inglot next. I do have an Inglot relatively closeby but I couldn't resist the 30% off.

I got the Duraline mixing medium that turns any powder eyeshadow into a liquid formulation. It is a little different than most mixing mediums though since it can also work well to rehydrate dried out eyeliner and it comes in a luxe glass container with a push button dropper versus a suction bulb dropper. This was $7.00 at the show.

Inglot Duraline

Inglot Rainbow Eyeshadow in 108R. I've been so enamored with orange eyeshadows lately so I had to pick up a trio for $5.00! 2.5 grams for that price and three colors is a great deal.

Inglot Rainbow Eyeshadow 108R

Lastly I got an Eyebrow Powder in 567. This was $3.00. The Inglot website portrays the colors so incorrectly! On the website, 567 looks similar to 569 but they're not even close in real life and the rest of the colors are off too.

Inglot Eyebrow Powder in 567

After that, I went to Bdellium Tools to check out a few of their brushes. I got two, 765 and 772. These were $5.00 each. These are the Travel Line brushes so the handles are shorter which suit me quite well! I didn't check all the brushes but the Maestro line eye brushes were around $6.00, the Travel line eye brushes were $5.00 and the Travel line Face brushes were around $10.00

Bdellium Tools 772 and 765

and lastly, I bought this lash fan at Crown Brush for $2.00.

Crown Brush Lash Fan C113

I got the OCC Lip Tar in Anime in its awesome new packaging. This retails for $14.00

.

I got the new iEnvy Kiss Lashes in KPE08

Kiss iEnvy Lashes in KPE08

and lastly, the Mehron Celebre Pro Loose Mineral Finishing Powder. This retails for $12.95.

Mehron Celebre Pro Loose Powder

All in all, I spent $62.50 and saved about $51.93 off the retail price plus I didn't have to pay tax! I was really excited to be able to scope out the place and try a few things at a discounted price. The HD Foundation has become a staple for me which makes me a little sad considering the $40.00 price tag. Still though, there's IMATS in June when I can pick up another bottle!

When it's Dreary Outside FOTD

Although it saddens me to say it, California (specifically Southern California) does experience weather outside of sunny and warm days. We'll occasionally experience rain, wind (Santa Ana winds anyone?), and if you believe in it, (although you really shouldn't) earthquake weather. The last few days have been cold and yesterday was quite rainy which suited the winter weather.

In an effort to brighten up my day and combat the rainy weather, I did a winged liner with bright bright lips.

.

.

I'm getting better at using my Sonia Kashuk Bent Eyeliner brush for winged liner. I used my Inglot gel liner which I like for its longevity but dislike for its quick drying time. It makes it difficult to fix the overall shape when it dries like iron on.

On a much lighter non-Lime Crime note, I'm redoing an amazing look I saw on Pinterest. (Original credit for the image here by Vivid Emotions Make-up). I'll include the promo image after my set of pictures. I loved the bright teal/turquoise on the lid with the transition to a smoked out brown. Not necessarily super complicated but very gorgeous.

My camera decided to freak out a bit and my pictures a little more red toned than usual (at least to my eyes!). Do ignore that. Unfortunately none of my closed eyed pictures looked good so here's a barrage of open eyed photos!

The camera muted the turquoise a bit so here's an extra picture with my Ottlite to show off the turquoise better!

and here's the awesome look that I copied/redid! Credit goes to Vivid Emotions Make-up! As you can see, she did a much better job!
