Hey everyone! Today I have a swatch and review of the Ofra Cosmetics Highlighter that they did in collaboration with the women behind the Dupethat Instagram. They collaborated and launched two shades, You Glow Girl and You Dew You (the shade I got). I was super happy to get You Dew You, which looks up my alley as a shade to wear to get out of the wintery blues.
Where to Purchase: Ofra Cosmetics
Price: $15.00 for a 4 gram pan, $25.00 for 10 grams in a compact. You can use the code DUPETHAT to get 30% off.
Do they test on animals?: The company does not test on animals.
Packaging: The black compact comes with a clear plastic lid. The packaging is sleek so it'll be easy to store or stack.
You Dew You is a golden peach with a strong gold sheen. This shade seems like it'll work with warm skin tones while You Glow Girl is a light pink that seems to be better for cool skin tones.
Swatch:
When swatched, the gold sheen really comes out. The highlighter is shimmery, not glittery at all. The left swatch is a finger swatch while the right swatch is how it looks when applied with a brush. If you want to increase the intensity, you can apply another layer or dampen your brush.
The formula is slightly creamy and not too powdery so it doesn't kick up a ton of product when you use your brush. It isn't too soft either so you won't have to worry about picking up too much product. The formula is very buildable so you can get a sheer highlight or build up to an intense almost wet-like highlighting effect. I do prefer using slightly denser synthetic brushes with the highlighter.
As with any super shimmery product, this will enhance any pores or scarring so I suggest keeping it to areas like the top of your cheek bones if you have any issues like that.
Wear Time:
I wore the highlighter on the top of my cheekbones and it wore well for seven hours. I was super pleased with the wear time given my oily skin!
Conclusion:
Overall, I think it's a gorgeous highlight and the golden sheen works great against my skintone. The formula isn't dry, chalky, or powdery and it applies so well onto my face. If you're in the market for one, you can check this out!
