Product Description: "A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours that can create a high gloss, glass-like finish or subtle sheen...Tinted Lipglass is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It's pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic colour"
My Thoughts on the Formula/Wear Time: I used to think I was partial to sticky lipglosses because of the wear time but now my tastes have changed and I'm not a fan of them anymore. These are quite tacky on but the wear time is pretty good, about 3-4 hours without eating or drinking. Despite the tackiness, it didn't feel uncomfortable or drying on.
Packaging: A fairly unassuming clear tube with black plastic cap and a doe foot applicator.
Price: $15.00 for 4.8 grams/.17 oz.
Where to purchase: MAC.
Cruelty Free? As they choose to sell in China (a country that reserves the right to conduct animal testing), they are not cruelty free.
Bait is described as an "iris-pink with gold pearl" and somehow depicted quite dark and coralish on the site (it's not in real life). It was originally part of MAC's Lure Collection which was released in 2006. I could swear that they mixed up Flash of Flesh and Bait's product picture because Flash of Flesh is definitely not that light looking.
I can't say this was a favorite lipglass of mine, mainly because I think it's a color that doesn't look well on me unless I pair it with something else. I had high hopes for the collection in general but I think the colors chosen feel kind of flat. They were the general public's consensus but I thought colors like Guacamole and Jete weren't highly coveted (why not Parrot?) or Moxie and Rocker.
For a while now, I've felt quite blase about MAC launches and this was the same.
Did you get anything from MAC By Request collection?
MAC is too pricey for me sadly. I've never tried the lipglasses but I hear they're nice. That light pearly color reminds me of a NYX mega shine gloss I have called Sweetie Pie; it's just a light milky color like that and a bit frosty so it gives the illusion of a light nude lip without having to cake on other product to blank out your lip color.
ReplyDeleteI know my budget has made me turn more towards indies though not many do lip products (Silk Naturals and Darling Girl come to mind!) so my range of options is often more limited than I'd like it to be
DeleteI got Moxie and Candy Yum Yum. I actually got 2 of each. Admittedly, CYY probably isn't my best shade to wear but I will certainly try to rock the heck out of it. It's kind of a moot point now, people's desire for CYY, because OCC Nylon is out and it's brighter than CYY, cruelty free, and the product will last longer. I wasn't excited by anything besides CYY. Moxie was actually a last minute choice. I didn't want any lip glasses because I don't like glosses anymore - the consistency is to tacky/sticky for me. I wanted one of the shadows, but not badly enough...overall MAC is becoming too pricey considering the lack of imagination used in the collections.
ReplyDeleteYES I have some sort of irrational desire for Nylon even though I can't even see myself wearing it. It's disappointing to see the direction MAC has been taking because it used to be the creme de la creme of mid to high end brands.
DeleteI thought some of the releases were odd as well! This is a nice gloss but I don't think it looks awesome enough to have been that coveted!
ReplyDeleteYeah exactly, I think there were other products in general that were more coveted than these lipglasses.
DeleteI like the color but it's a little to frosty for me. I do agree about how the collection was not thought out well at all! :)
ReplyDeleteThe choices didn't seem that coveted at all, I think I would have liked a more fleshed out collection or maybe an explanation as to why certain colors weren't available.
